This is The Alley located in downtown Aiken, South Carolina. At one time this backstreet was a place to do horse trading and contained horse sheds, blacksmiths, a wagon factory, a harness shop and a wheelwright. Today the area is still a center of activity. You'll find entertainment, restaurants, bars, special events, live music and friends. This photograph was taken right before dawn.

Blue birds have always intrigued me. I have tried to attract them to the feeder and bird house in my back yard with little success. On a recent trip to Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina, I hit the jackpot. This little fellow was one of a swarm of blue birds filling the trees. A great place to visit!

This classic diner, named Cruisers Route 66, was photographed at night in Williams, Arizona, USA. It is a nostalgic restaurant with many period artifacts from the 1950s to take you down memory lane. Its red color scheme and car atop the roof make it an attractive landmark for tourists and locals alike.

The lighting on this Lotus sports cars was just too beautiful to pass up. This car is one of many on display at the Barber Motorsports Park and Museum in Leeds, Alabama. This 900 acre racing facility is a must see for anyone that likes cars, motorcycles or racing. Take the guided tour of the museum and you will be amazed!

Meadow Garden is one of the oldest house museums in the United States. Open to the public since 1901, the property is a National Historic Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The main part of the house was built in 1791 by its then owner George Walton, who truly makes the house even more historic. George Walton is one of three men with ties to Augusta, Georgia who were signers of the Declaration of Independence. Meadow Garden is definitely one of Augusta, Georgia's historic gems.

A vibrant yellow Dahlia, possibly Babylon Bronze, blooms prominently against a backdrop of green foliage. The petals are layered in a lush, symmetrical pattern that exudes a lively, natural beauty. This delightful flower was found outside a beautiful country church known as Worth’s Chapel located in Creston, North Carolina.

A serene sunset casts a warm glow on the horizon above a calm body of water, while silhouetted branches in the upper-left corner reach into the sky. The clouds are tinged with shades of purple, orange, and yellow, reflecting the sun's last light as day transitions into night. I am at the Thurmond Lake Visitor Center in South Carolina while the sun sets on the Georgia side of the lake. This is what we call the best of Georgia Carolina!
